HOW THE NEW JERSEY ESTIMATE WORKS

What the 2026 calculation includes.

The New Jersey engine uses the Division of Taxation’s current rate schedules for 2020 and after, $1,000 regular exemptions per modeled taxpayer, and the 2026 worker contribution rates published by NJ Labor: UI 0.0825%, WF/SWF 0.0425%, TDI 0.19%, and FLI 0.23%, each with its applicable wage base.

What can make your actual paycheck different?

Dependents, veteran/age/disability exemptions, property-tax deductions and other New Jersey credits are not modeled.

Important assumptions

  • W-2 wage income and one job.
  • Standard deduction rather than itemized deductions.
  • No dependents, tax credits, bonuses or stock compensation.
  • 401(k) contribution is capped at the standard 2026 employee elective-deferral limit in this calculator.
